If a tree falls in the middle of the forest, does it make a sound? Some say yes because a tree has fallen. Some say no because no one is there to hear it.
Have you ever heard a tree fall in the forest? I have, and never once has it happened quietly. Ultimately, I think the question is a little flawed. It assumes that man is king and that he must be there for something to happen. But what we know to be true is that when a tree falls, not once does it go unnoticed, even if a man is not there.
A bird heard it, a snake felt it, a deer watched it, or if none of the animals were there, the ground felt it, and God Himself saw it. He even knew it was about to happen.
At this, the inaugural post of Curious Pursuit of Christ, I am starting out in a bit of anonymity, not that I am famous or have a large following on my own. Rather, it is an experiment for myself more than anyone. Even though I am writing for a particular audience and woman, I need this blog to grow out of the idea that if a tree falls in a forest, God knows all about it. Never once is it not noticed, seen, or accounted for. It makes a sound.
If I start a blog without officially telling friends or family or social media outlets, will anyone know I exist? The answer is yes, indeed. God will. Yes, the point is to help people, but if I don’t trust and obey to begin with? Then the blog is born out of disobedience, not blessing.
Yes, this is not my first blogging rodeo. 😉 However, I felt like my voice or style of writing had become something other than my voice.
When I started thinking about what to do, I felt a shift in my soul that it was time to let it go rather than continue in perseverance, which for someone as loyal as me was hard to do. I even thought about quitting the blog scene altogether for a while.
However, it was as if God was saying while holding out his hand, “Do you trust me? Do you believe I will hear you when you fall? Do you believe I will catch you when you let go?”
For a short time, at least, I believe God is calling me to plant this little blog in obscurity. He is asking me to plant the seed of this blog in the darkness of the soil and trust Him with what happens. And also, this space is sacred, built on the time with just me and God and my curious pursuit of Him.
In the hidden, secret places of our hearts, when things shift and fall, God sees. Never once does the tree fall without being noticed, and we are the treasure of Christ. He sees when shifts happen.
Leave me a comment to tell me how you stumbled upon my blog and what God is doing in the secret places of your heart.
